Alex Meruelo was born on March 27th, 1964 in New York City, New York to his Parents Homero and Belinda. He is a Cuban-American as his parents are originally from Cuba. In 1985, Alex rounded up his higher education in Don Bosco Technical Institute, California State University, Long Beach.
After his higher education in 1985, Alex became a millionaire from his real estate business that same year in his 20’s. He bought a failed pizza business in 1985 which later became part of the chain la pizza located in southern California; and within five years had more than 10 branches which yield him an annual income of $10 million.
He is the owner of Meruelo group which is a real estate business development and construction firm, two casinos: Sahara Las Vegas in Las Vegas and Grand sierra lone resort in Reno, Nevada; Colom Island, Fuji food which specializes in packaged sushi products for supermarkets in the United States, Meruelo media which is the only certified minority-owned media group in Los Angeles with two TV stations and five radio stations of which are Klos lii, Kwhy-TV; Arizona coyotes which is a professional ice hockey team founded in December 1971 and a few other businesses.
